Bruno gets F1 test with Honda

So the time has come. Will he make it into a race seat, test seat, or not make it at all? And if he gets a race seat, who will he replace?

i would love to see the Senna name back in F1.

But not at the expense of his uncles reputation.

The return of the name 'Piquet' hasn't exactly increased the family stock this year.

I guess if Senna proves to be capable in early testing, then Rubens will be out of a Honda seat.

Test seat - anything else and he will fall flat on his face
Natural talent - but I think he's only just had 4 seasons of racing !

Honda need drivers that can give them technical feedback - they have Wurz - I have no idea how good Button is - but Rubens is another great test driver, so Honda would be loosing a real asset if Rubens was kicked out

I can see Rubens mentoring Bruno for a season - it will be good for everyone

yup but only if alonso doesnt go to honda (which he wont) then RB will go.

I just hope Honda can offer some competition to the top teams next season.

I am bored of 2 horse races for the championship, year in, year out.

There are rumours that Piquet may get a test too if he loses the Renault seat.

But back to Senna Jr, I think he might be better served doing a year of testing.

If he was going to replace anyone, you would argue Button - he's hardly "seen off" Rubens has he?!

But i think they'll give him a test seat - there's too many technical changes and development (especially Honda) next year and an experienced hand will be better suited than a rookie.

I would be very surprised to see Bruno replace Jenson, especially since Rubens is coming to the end of his (pretty impressive) career now.

I think that Jenson is just frustrated with the lack of pace in the car and that is what is demoralising him and perhaps taking away some motivation. There is nothing wrong with his driving at all, he is very smooth and very fast. If he were given a McLaren at the beginning of his career he may have been a world champion by now.

Nothing wrong with his driving?

He's been seen off by Barrichello this season. If he cant even motivate himself to beat his ageing team mate, why should Honda retain him?

They would be far better off with Barrichello and a young gun. Senna would fit that bill nicely for Honda especially as the name is inexorably linked with them

also petrobras now sponsor honda - they've wanted a brazilian on board for a while, tried for pizzonia at williams but heidfeld was better. they might get two now!?

If Senna replaces anyone it should be Button... just because the car's useless, Jenson has completely given up.
