First off let me say a big thank you to all the people that I had a chance to meet and some old faces that I had the pleasure to see again, for the chance to be involved in this project. I've worked with a lot of car people, teams, and manufacturers in the past and this was really a treat to be part of.
It's rare that you see a group of people with such enthusiasm as well as a sense of pride and accomplishment that you see with the good guys from Noble Automotive Ltd.. These guys are not only proud, but they are happy to share their joy with anyone that crosses their path about this car. In most cases when I work with teams or owners I get the feel that they're just going through the paces,"another day at work", type of attitude and this is not what I encountered last week during the tail end of the Noble Automotive Ltd.'s drive across the USA test session. Even after three weeks and almost 6000 street miles (with NO breakdowns or major problems!), these guys were smiling and as happy as ever. This car was put through tests that included high altitude testing (climbed to the very top of Pikes Peak at untold speeds), desert heat, and a blistering 202mph run (closed circuit of course) but enough about the team...!
The M600, being the "unfinished" second prototype that it was, is the car that drooling Noble car fans out there are waiting for! This car is a beast, but in the "King Kong before they shoot him down as he's holding the girl" kind of beast! At a de-tuned 500hp (rumored to be 650hp upon completion) this car is as refined as any supercar on the road or any still on the drawing board. Even though the body, interior, and even some of the mechanical components are not the exact pieces slated for production, if they are any indication of the teams dedication to developing the most purest of road going cars, this car is going to be special in it's final form. It's also rumored that the final specs of the body work have been thoroughly "worked" through the wind tunnel and that drag has been reduced even further, and cooling has been increased to perfection. The M600 has all the grunt of a late 60's, early 70's muscle car, with all the refinement of the most exotic of exotics.
The M600 P2's motor is a 4.4 V8 bi-turbo that will out accelerate a Porsche Carrera GT from a rolling start. This car is being produced for the purist. The driver that doesn't want traction control and stability control. The driver that is confident in their skills and is looking to prove that to the racetrack underneath them will benefit from the lack of "systems" of control. In just the opposite way, the "control" comes from the tremendous grip (tires were one of the key items that we tested during the 5 day stint on track) produced from agile handling due to enormous tires and a light and nimble carbon chassis/body (the entire car weighing in just around 2700lbs wet!).
