Hi there,

Just fitting a CD changer in the boot and I need an earth. I know just connecting to the body on normal 'metal cars' will do, but......

Where is the best place people have used please? I don't want to have to go chasing around the car unless I have too.

Thanks in advance

There is an earth point on the petrol filler neck in the boot. This is absolutely fine for the CD Changer. I have a thick earth from the battery in mine due to it having to be connected to several amps, a cd changer, DVD player and a Playstation!!!!
Should be easy to see.
cheers

The petrol tank is at chassis earth level but its not suitable for high current. Its fine for aerial amps etc but not for high power amps. Quite easy to pop a wire out of the bottom of the boot and get an earth from the fuel pump chassis point, it will mean giving the point a bit of a scrape so as to get a good earth but is the best way.

CD changer is very little current, but as David says anything else will need a better earth.
