Anything you buy off the shelf or get done at a Beautician etc in the UK is not going to make any difference. The strengths needed to whiten can only be used / obtained by a Dentist.

Many of these 'kits' (such as those sold through Ebay) come from China and are unregulated.

Seeing as the chinese just went through poisoning nearly 50,000 babies, some of which died, with unregulated additives in Baby milk formula, do you trust them to make Teeth Whitening Kits?

I'd suggest only purchasing from very reputable sources.

I went on my teeth bleaching course yesterday.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE ANYTHING YOU CAN BUY OVER THE COUNTER OR AT A BEAUTICIANS

The kits sold out there are very damaging to the teeth, with a pH of 1-2!!

I'm having mine done using an overnight system which is 10% carbamide peroxide in gumshield type trays worn for 14 days. I believe this is the safest and most predictable way to get a good, safe result.
There is of course the in chair bleaching done with a light, which will give a good result quickly but does relapse unless topped up with home bleaching or repeated at a later date.

It varies on your practice but where Im about to start charges (I think) £350 for home whitening and £550 for in chair whitening. Not cheap but the results are great smile

Whiter than white are meant to be the best home ones, think they supply dentists as well.

They do a 12% or 16% overnight course with a custom made mouth shield.

Ding that. My friend is a dentist. She did my gum shield, and gave me all I needed for about £200.

My ex used these: http://www.crestwhitestrips.co.uk/products/Crest-W...

White enough to hurt your eyes, but she had body dismorphia or something, so shelled out to have them whitened at the dentist too, which hardly made any extra difference.

I tried em once but they make your teeth throb.

They're banned in the UK, but you can still buy them online, read into that what you will.

I haven't had whitening, but I have had some sloppy work done by an NHS dentist in the past. It's just cost the thick end of £3,000 to put it right (and put an end to years of pain).

If a qualified dentist could make the mess he did with me, what the hell could an ebay purchase do? What if it affects your gums?

Pay the money and get it done properly yes

So you want to buy some chemicals off an unknown source on the internet that are strong enough to effect the hardest substance produced in nature and then stick it in your gob.

Do you really think this is wise.
