Pedal axel

Broke the axel in my RH pedal (Specialized Mag II platform pedals)

Now it just happens I have a spare LH axel for the exact same pedal.. So if I put the LH axel in the RH pedal, and fix it to the RH Pedal arm what will the net result... it works lose, it won't work at all, it only works pedalling backwards, it works fine...

Something tells me they have L and R stamped on the axels for a reason... but as I am cheapskate....

Thoughts gentlemen please.

It wouldn't screw in would it? Pedal axles have left and right handed threads on them.

Ahhh... that might explain it (never actually got round to trying to fit it, which if I would have done, might have stopped me posting such a ridiculous question.. )

How old are they? Specialized are quite good for warranty returns.
