Thanks anyway Pete.
I'm just in the process of changing mine but cant get the bottom bolt undone on the front off-side due to rust etc. Any good hints and tips? I've tried soaking it with WD40 and hitting it with a hammer (in both directions to try and break the rust seal) but no joy. My other 3 corners are all free - just the front off-side bottom bolt! The nut is loose but the bolt wont shift.

I use pipe freeze spray to freeze the bolt and then wack it with a hammer.....

At work we use a product called Rust-Byte,because we work outside we need to sometimes shift seized and rusty bolts ect,we perchase from a company Metalyte ltd at Dorking in Surrey, Tel no 01306 743868.Its expensive stuff but
hot,not sure if they have it in small can form but no harm in asking, worth keeping some in the garage tho.....

Thanks Pete, I'm gonna try a bit of heat tomorrow and see if that shifts it, if not, it will be down to the professionals (ie a workshop) to shift it. Failing that, it will have to be cut out and it's a new piece of suspension, assuming they can get the part in time. I need to be on the road for Sunday (with my Tiv) as I'm off to Germany! I'll probably look up this company, as you say, always good to keep a can in the garage!
Never ceases to amaze me, but some folk seem to think/expect that TVR's operate and last as long as the mass production genere.... NOPE they don't. They seriously need ownership/specialist TLC. Seeing these photo's I actually worry about the chassis outriggers as well. When was the last time the car had a proper TVR 12K/annual service check performed? and if so by whom the hell was it performed, coz you other guys out there better stay well clear.
Good luck with the new shocks dude, but I would have other areas of the chassis checked out as well...0-60 in 4 secs and 180 mph capability..... damn scarey 5hit.

Let's just say it was due for an annual service but having only done about 1000miles (if that) since the last one I wasn't in a massive hurry. Strangely I was actually on my way to get the geometry checked when I'm pretty sure it sheared off....I was on a B road at about 40ish when I went over a slight bump. I remember hearing a ting noise and thinking wtf was that?!!
I'll get the chassis checked when the shocks are done only this time its by someone who actually gives a f
k!The car is a 2000 model.

Well...I had the MOT about 2 weeks ago but like I said previously I'm pretty sure the spring platform sheared 5 days ago(judging by the lack of dirt on the casting and remembering hearing that "ting" noise)....so I'm not sure how much evidence there would have been?? Mine has done 25K and this year they picked up the rear anti-roll bar had come adrift and the chassis needed re-tapping.
