Hi Everyone,

Really chuffed with my new (77K used) VW Passat TDI (130HP)
Only problem is I want a second key (3 button flick-type).
Dealer option costs £180.
Other option, get uncut key cut and programmed by auto locksmith.
To do that I need to know the key code.

Question is, where is this elsive code hiding?

Thank you please,
Craig

Its not an actual secret code that you can find on the internet. It just means pairing the key to the cars immobilzer and central locking ecu via a diagnostic link.

hi Goode, did you get it sorted? I recently had to get a new key for a golf, all in came to about £80. Where abouts are you? What age is the Passat?

Hi Flatsix,

I found the code by opening my key, but even then it seems some keys people buy do not accept the coding. That would have been about £100 with with the fob, cutting and coding and no guarantees.

Ended up going for the best quote on a locksmith coming round. Ended up paying £150 for a sparkly new key that does everything it should.
