Th guy is incredibly clever to create those body panels himself. Shame about the wheels, seats, and clumbsy down-draft webbers let it down. Just over 10 years ago I was building replicas when he started. Shame he's missed the boat. Perhaps he should make himself a zonda body?
Very impressed. Amazing what dedication can achieve.

You have to give a huge amount of respect to this guy as any one who can build a lambo body out of ali by hand is a real hero. And I suspect with all due respect to Lambo owners here his body would be better made than an original. As for his choice of engine, a Ford Ford Windsor 351 V8, if built right that is a damn good engine as a Lambo V12 would not be the sort of thing he would be able to pick up at his local scrape dealer

I think that looks fantastic, well done that man! Looks better than the real thing and probably a lot more reliable.
How can a 'replica' look better than the real thing? Is a replica of the Mona Lisa in any way better than the original?Where is your point of reference for what is reliable? A properly maintained Countach is rather more reliable than many think - those many being usually a very long way from having any actual real-life experience of a Countach.
I still think the chap should have used his skills to make a car that doesn't look like something else - I'm sure he would have done a good job - bet he's sorry he had to have it dug out of his cellar though!

In the same way that some people think a Ferrari with a rear spoilers looks better than the 'original'. (I'm not advocating attaching rear spoilers to Ferraris in any way!
)It's all down to personal opinion at the end of the day. I think, as far as replicas go, this is definitely one of the best. But in my personal opinion, just not the same as the real thing.

P.s. If someone redid the mona lisa with a smiling, topless playboy bunny... Then yes, it would be better!

I am indebted to the great Wikipedia for this as I have no room for this sort of stuff in my head these days.

I think it's an amazing achievement, and Lambo owners should be flattered that he would go to such lengths to own the nearest thing he can afford to a real one. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Better build quality, panel fit etc ... or are you saying the original is perfect in every way?

Actually, by definition, an original thing, whatever it is, is indeed perfect because it is the perfect thing, there is nothing else which is so perfectly itself. Copies are just that... 'mere' copies - see my note above about the version of the Mona Lisa - at least that artist didn't claim it was as good as the original at all, let alone claim any 'improvement'!I think it's an amazing achievement, and Lambo owners should be flattered that he would go to such lengths to own the nearest thing he can afford to a real one. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
A 'perfect' replica of a Countach would include occasionally imprecise panel fit, would have a certain amount of electrical 'issues' and would probably have other problems, such as not very effective aircon, sometimes slow / inoperable headlamp motors, often heavy clutch pedals etc, etc. Even if such a 'perfect' replica has such details, it would still not be a real Lamborghini.
Imitation isn't flattery, it's just imitation. Any actual 'sincerity' would have meant the chap wouldn't have done this in the first place! I think anybody who's had some experience of a Countach wouldn't be at all flattered by this car or any other replicas in any way, admirable in some ways as this one clearly is.

So by your logic, a genuine Countach with these problems resolved would no longer be a "proper" Lambo?
nope - not what I meant at all - a real Countach with these problems resolved would still be (wait for it)...a real Countach with modifications made to suit the Countach owner's wishes and requirements.
I know where there ARE at least three or four like that, the owners post on here from time to time as well...
