LPG elise, s2 - CAN YOU DO IT? would it be worth it? tank could go in the boot i suppose but i know it would upset the balance? anyone done it?

Given that an Elise will do 30mpg+ on an average run, why bother?

doubtful you would make it pay...unless of course you bought the Elise as a 30K miles a year commuter

for the £2K cost, you could buy a very nice 2nd car as a 'runaround'

probably why no-one has done it wink

I think the other reason no one does it is how many people buy sports cars to get LPG conversions

exactly ...the logic doesnt quite go together ...you wouldnt turn up at the Lotus dealer and ask if they can LPG it for you because you can save a few quid on fuel now would you ...its not like its a 4.0L V8 and does 10mp around town after all smile

Why? Its cheap as chips to run fuel wise anyway. I reckon mine costs less per mile for fuel than the missus A3tdi.

Nothing wrong with LPG in a sports car as such, but I think the problem with the Elise is lack of room for a gas tank, and yes MPG is already good.
