I woke up last night and realised that I the woman I married 18 years ago has morphed into Sybil Fawlty. Not in looks, but in personality.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I thought all women were mother hen clucking, nagging, self-interested, eternally righteous, vindictive, spoilt, selfish, ungrateful, petulant bhes with the worst double standards you can imagine.

They don't turn into their mother at all. They're like it anyway but hide it for a couple of years to ensnare you long enough to get pregnant.

Or maybe I'm wrong. wink

Luckily my Mother In Law is a total sweetie and I love her dearly. My Mrs isn't the same as her - but if she ended up that way it wouldn't be a bad thing! biggrin

I didn't think I'd become Basil Fawlty.

I'm more like Richard Bucket.

Gosh, I'm sensing a bit of anger.

I can't find any point on which I can disagree, apart from I think that it was 10 years before the morphing happened.

Not angry, no. I was making the point that all women will exhibit these things. However, the trick is finding one that doesn't do it so much. Just as men are arrogant, opinionated, unthinking and sex-mad... but the best ones aren't like that all the time.
