Only thing that worries me is that, sticking them in Google keeps throwing up Scooby/Jap tuning links. As seen down your local McDonalds car park?

Why do you want a stronger wheel? For generous road use i'd have thought the Spiders would be adequate?

Only on track would I say they're not really up to it.

To be honest the Spider is a s**t wheel. Not very strong build quality, and submissive to pot holes.I think thats why a number on here have gone over to SP,s to replace the poor quality spiders.

I was aware that they're not that strong, but didn't realise they'd be that bad.

I've recently got some Lexus wheels, 2nd hand but never used. Got them for half the price a decent set of spiders would have cost me. Similar in design/spoke layout, so well worth looking at what other cars (especially Japs) use. These are the right PCD, might need a small spacer, and will also require the centre bore machining out.

Quick lookie came up with some in Yank land for (IIRC) $340 a wheel. Thing is, Tim will supply ones with the correct offset (whatever that may be?)

There are a few here that have replaced a few sets of spiders due to them being buckled easily.

Yes but the ACT ones are made for TVR fitment and the same wheels from others aren't. You may be able to get one cheap enough but you may also need spacers for the offset and a spigot ring to centre a wheel with an oversize centre bore or more fiddly may need to get them machined out.

Yep a friend of mine buckled 3 out of 4 rims in road driving just because of pot holes.

Yes just to confirm what steve said, we have secured the deal for Work rims for TVR fitment but in any case i don't think you'll get any non TVR Work rims much cheaper, fare comment Bluethunder for some brands it pays to shop around.

For some reason I was expecting to see a picture of the BeeGees when I clicked on this thread.

Back on topic - they look a bit like mad evil Graham's wheels, which look pretty good.

Spiders look soooooooooooooooo much nicer mate if you ask me but am fully aware of the wheel strength issue !! As for the ones pictured i dunno scratchchin . I'd like to see your car with SP's on there as i think silver or smoked vertions might look the part on there but as you've said, SP's are not to your liking that much.
