Gday
Looking at my "engine in a box" .. i see that the alluminum lining around the inside of the box is looking a bit tatty and bits coming apart.
Is there a easy way of updating it ..without having to take the engine out ??
Be it ... relining (with what)
... painting (with what)

Suggestions please

Many Thanks

So sorry... I don't understand. What do you mean "Engine in a box". Is it the engine "bay" you are talking about and what "lining" are you referring to? Is it the black painted alumininum foil glued to the walls?

If it is I can tell you that I repaired mine on my 85 S3 using regular aluminium foil (for use wit food) and glued it on over the damaged areas with regular contact-glue (hope this is a correct translation frpm swedish). After re-paint it looks as new. I did this with the engine "in-situ".

Best Regards /Lasse

You mean the engine cover lid? There is a guide I think in Lotus Esprit World.

Gday ...OPPS

Sorry about my jargon "engine in a box"
I have heard it used before .. because it is a ..
engine in a box

Yes, the alluminum(cant spell that word) lining that is around the inside of the box. that surrounds the engine.
Yes the foil is starting to come away in places and does look a bit .. worn
Black and silver dont look to good

Thanks Lasse for your imput

Hey Kyles ... no not the lid .. i have seen Katos "fixem up" in Espritworld apertaining to the lid...
My Gcar lid just has the black plastic with no lining inside it.... er maybe i should do it .. what advantage would that have if it never had foil on the inside of the lid before ?

Thanks

This might do the trick.

If the link doesn't work go to www.eastwoodco.com and search for insulation.
