Can anybody please tell me in laymans terms how on earth I suppose to remove the battery without taking 1/2 the engine out! Having struggled to undo the seized bolts, I cannot move the battery far enough before it hits the black air box as about 25% of the battery is under the wing. It is a 4.5 with the purple pipes between the 2 boxes.

See picture on http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=3...

Thanks

Tony

You'll need to take the airbox off to give you enough room. Depending on how your battery is secured it can still be a bd to remove. If you can get the plate with the captive nut on it in front of the battery out it's much easier. I couldn't as it had rusted to death, so I used a big screwdriver to get the battery up and over the captive nut. It can be done because the battery went it, but it might be a pita to do.

Thanks Steve, it is what I suspected, I will give it a go tomorrow. Tony

BTW How little of the airbox can I get away with undoing? Just the 2 silver triangular brackets at the front and rear and lifting it up, or is there more to it than that?
