Hi,

There are tons of discussions on gearboxes in the forum so it's worth doing a search, as for the best, well without going silly on custom built jobs that's down to the particular application quite a lot. What engine, what are you going to use it for? Again, much of this is discussed in the history of the forum, a search is the best place to start.

Im interested in this subject too but how exactly do we use the search facility. I have tried several times using many of the options, with hardly any success. Very recent posts seem to appear but not the older stuff where many popular subjects such as G/boxes, brakes, clutches, exhausts etc, may exist?
Its very slow to scroll through 2-300 pages of discussion titles trying to find the appropriate ones, hence much quicker to open a new post.
Could this be related to internet security/firewalls or am I just being thick as usual?

Go on then chaps, what are the applications? Which engine have you got and what is the proposed use - touring, race, trackdays etc... Do you want centre shift, side shift or paddle and if relevant, what's the budget?

If I was starting from scratch, I would have a long talk with jeff schwartz about the Mendelo? box before moving forward on a G50. If you decide on a G50 I suggest longer fourth and fifth gears and a limited slip. Lee
