I know this subject has been covered before on PH, I think the general outcome was most men dont wash their hands after a wee but more so if they have a number two!

I have a theory, if the dryer below is in the toilets then your less likley to use it..

however if one of the little beauties below are used we men seem to love using them!

I for one always like using on the "super" dryers, they are just more fun and interesting. soapbox

Xlerator

Dyson airblade

So, would you be inclined to use the last two driers more than the bog (biggrin) standard one?

Even though my parts are as clean as can be, I wash no matter whether there's a blower or paper towels. In fact, when taking my little boy to public toilets, we wash and then shake our hands dry because he doesn't like the noise of the blowers.

So, wash no matter what..!!

I used one of these things once... there was no hot water so hands were already cold, put them under one of these bad boys and nearly got frost bite on my finger tips.

Fookin mental.

Oh and p.s. not washing your hands after using the loo is gross and spreads particles of sh£t everywhere...whether you've had a sh£t or not... remember that next time you go back to eating your sandwich at your desk.

As you were.

The Dyson one is superb!

Seems every Witherspoons has one. Almost worth putting up with crap beer.

I've just had one of the Dyson Airblades installed in the locker room/toilet area of my my work (an offshore installation). Seems to be getting quite well used and is much more effective than the old style ones but it is hellish noisy! Cost about 700 snots also IIRC, having said that they were probably charging us our "special" oil industry rates!

it's pointless washing (if your personal hygiene is already good) if the bog doors needs to be touched.... FFS

I always wash my hands, but seldom dry 'em. The Dyson one is fantastic and I'd always use one just because of what it is! Haven't seen the other one, though.

I've not seen any of the new driers yet but I've given up trying to use the traditional ones. I find drying my hands on my jeans is far more effective.

I`m dead hot on washing hands and make sure my son of nearly 4 is in the habit. I remember the first time he and I used a Dyson airblade, I have never seen my son move his hands so quickly to cover his ears whilst clinging to my leg!

I find it odd that people won't wash their hands after flushing the loo, surely they must realise the flush handle would be used before anyone washed their hands, and well... need I say anymore?

Reminds me of this old joke:

A naval officer and an army walk into a bathroom, they each sidle up to a urinal and do their business. After they were done, the army officer starts washing his hands while the naval officer starts walking out the door.

The army officer says, "In the army they teach us to wash our hands after we pee".

The naval officer says, "In the navy they teach us not to piss on our hands."

urine is sterile, why spend time washing your hands only to undo all the work when you go and put your hands on the door to open it

The dyson blade is awesome. First time i came across one i washed my hands twice.

Sadly there seems to be a lot of people in this country who have no hands and cant perform simple tasks like lift the seat etc so expecting them to wash their hands is simply foolishly optimistic.

Also has anyone noticed how the water in the automatic taps is always so hot you can barely wash your hands?

When I lived in Scotland I was quite amused by regularity with which the locals would dry their hands after a slash. So many of them prefer to forgo the washing hands with soap part that would be customary elsewhere hehe
Thankfully I now live in a more civilised part of the world

I don't know whether this story is an urban myth or whether it actually took place.
A work colleague of mine was telling a story about an incident which allegedly happened at his previous employer (a large aerospace company)
During the design stages of a new product introduction a senior manager from another company (American) who was making the mating part for the same customer came to the UK to take about interface tolerances.

The guy was a very big loud American his flight had been delayed by numerous hours, they gave him a fiesta hire car and he had a crash in it on his way to the factory. When he arrived he was late and very irate. He joined the meeting of around 15 people (he had only previously corresponded with these people through telecoms and email)

When he turned up his first comments were about this crappy country, he blamed BA stating that they couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery then he slated the hire company for giving him a sardine tin of a car, then he blamed the British for driving on the wrong side of the road which he states caused the crash. (with lots of 'goddamn' this and 'goddamn' that thrown in for good measure)

During the meeting he had numerous arguments with one particular guy about technical issues. This progressively got worse throughout the day. Later in the afternoon they decided to take a break and hopefully calm down the atmosphere.

The American and the English guy both went to the toilet at the same time. When the meeting restarted the conflict between these two guys carried on where it left off. The American guy stated something about not being able to trust the English guy, Where he responded by saying well how I can trust a man who doesn't even wash his hands after having a pee. The American then quickly responded by stating the only reason people wash their hands after peeing is if they accidentally pee on their fingers and that the only way you would pee on fingers is if you a had a little dick, So are you telling me ! apparently the room went silent followed by howls of laughter.
