Well, my 4.0 HC has finally been sold. Mixed feelings to be honest as it was an excellent car but what with the wife and kids, a tad impractical for those weekend trips to the Norfolk coast.

Excellent for those trips to Tescos though where their blue and white stripy bags did the golf bag impersonation routine to a tee.

But have sold it to another PHer so it's gonna be around which is a good thing. Had to drop the price quite a bit but then maybe I was being unrealistic in the first place! Had a good think about it last week and then compared the competition around and priced it accordingly.

Had two calls the day after and sold it on Saturday. I actually sold it to the first person to come and properly see it with a view to buy. I'd had the odd (local) tyre kicker - but no PHers which told me either Peterborough is the back of beyond or the price was not competitive.

But the best thing is I have sold it to someone who is a) mad about 'em and b) will treat it the same as I have.

There's a lot of competition out there in the used Chim market, so to those of you still to sell, I'd say: just stick at it. I was thinking of taking it SOR to a couple of dealers/independents - one was quite upfront and fair about what he wanted to make on the deal (it's just that I didn't want to lose that much money to him) and one was downright awful, no details asked on spec and offered me for SOR not far off three grand less than I managed to get privately. And it sounded like the rep was ringing me from the pub!

I wouldn't advise this method of disposal unless you absolutely HAVE to get rid of it. I didn't really have to so didn't choose this method in the end. It did serve to satisfy some curiosity though.

Oh yeah and David Batty now has another eager customer waiting in the wings come service time.

To those of you thinking about whether to buy one, I'd say: you're a long time dead. Just do it. What's the worst that can happen?

But I will return to TVR one day ...

Sad day I bet
Sorry to hear that it's become unpractical, but all is not lost. That Cerb's gonna look great in the drive.
But whatever you decide to get, keep in touch. OH

Al, if only I could! I know it's got four seats but we'd need a second mortgage to run it ...

Thanks for the sentiments though I'll still be about and dropping in every day for a lurk of course as usual but I need Ted to start a 60s Yank cars forum!

Have a word in his shell-like could you?
