Either a comedy genius or a utter fruit basket, or maybe both!

I knew the name but never seen him interviewed before.

He's getting on a bit. Must be in his mid 1980s by now.

I've always found him quite interesting to listen to but he may be past his "sell by" date at this stage.

He is a life long US "liberal" and Democrat supporter so last night probably made that old man very happy.

I remember watching this live yesterday, that was a pretty strange interview.

He even turned up in the BBC documentary series "Reaching for the Skies". Apparently, in the 1920s snd 30s his dad was an executive with one of the fledgling US airlines (it might have been American Airways). Gore Vidal was the first child to fly coast to coast in the US - in a Ford Trimotor.

Did you see Dizee Rascal making an arse out of himself on the BBC election coverage as well?

Linky

The best bit is where Paxman asks him if he believes in political parties in Britain and he replies "yes, I believe they exist." heherofl
