Washer Woes - any advice?

Hi,

Last night the washers on the Mrs' '02 330d Sport started playing up.... very little pressure with the water barely hitting the windscreen. On closer inspection it appears the head-light washer aren't 'popping out' either (they were last week). Am I right in thinking this is connected e.g. if the heaqdlamp one's don't release then it effects the main ones?

The car's under (BMW) warranty but it's a pain in the arris taking the car in etc.... is there an easy fix or is it a known problem? Could it just be a sticky mechanism? If so, is there a way to lubricate it baring in mind the damn things won't 'pop' out at the moment?

Having just fixed this problem myself. I can confirm that the problem is in the headlamp washers themselves.

The problem is that the rubbers on the washers perish after time, and so need replacing. its a headlight out jobby, the parts are abot £48 each side in total.
