I want a new watch to keep my Speedmaster reduced happy, basically i need to to fit the bill that the reduced doesn't do, I.e waterproof for swimming/washing the car etc, and also to take a bit of abuse in terms of getting covered in muck and being knocked about.
Before the reduced i had a Seiko divers watch with a pepsi style bezel which fitted the bill, but i fancy something different.
To summarize:
Its needs to be sub £500
Waterproof
Robust
Not look out of place if worn with a suit
Not bothered if new or used.
Not look like a copy of something else (the Seiko looked a bit like a Rolex)

I'll just add not a Sekio Monster either.

Bearing in mind your specification, I'd look no further than here:-

sinn 556. I'm currently trying to resist a 756 for exactly the same reasons.

Good call. I'd go for Sinn as well. The U1 is pretty much indestructible and most of their watches are appreciated by watch geeks, they are most certainly worth the cash.

The U1 is a lovely watch, mine gets worn far more frequently than my SeaDweller and all my other watches for that matter. Doubt you'll get one for £500 though, north of £600 would be a bit more like it IMO
