When will Gordon call for a General Election?
Discussion
There's not enough time before end of the year to do get everything sent out for postal votes, the Royal Mail have already given last postal dates for seasons greetings (I like to call it Christmas) cards. I think he'll wait til February at the earliest. Has to be May or before I seem to remember?

try May 2010.Calling an election now would be a HUGE mistake on his part (though would be great for the country), as id like to think that the public are wising up and arent as fickle as they were before, and so wouldn't let the BoE's decision detract away from all the negative result/decisions Brown has made.
"Bear in mind, that the BoE were FORCED into lowering the rates due to the current economic climate, which Brown has helped lead us into." THIS SHOULD NOT BE FORGOTTEN!!!!!

I'm thinking it might be early next year.
The average 'joe' in the street will be having a (possibly short term) feel good factor re the recent 1.5% cut, and for those on tracker mortgages will be enjoying a few extra quid in their pockets. Another .5% cut early next year might prolong this.
Factor in the 'Obama' effect from the US, and the resultant upsurge in political interest and Gordon might decide to try and sneak one in.
Having said that, if the predications about the economy getting worse are correct, he might decide to hang on until the bitter end.

My thoughts exactly. He's on a bit of an up compared to a couple of months ago, I reckon he might go for early next year. The average 'joe' in the street will be having a (possibly short term) feel good factor re the recent 1.5% cut, and for those on tracker mortgages will be enjoying a few extra quid in their pockets. Good news.Give the recession another couple of months, allow a bit of additional time for more Gordo foot in mouth slackjawing, it will be back up in the 20s.
Seeing as the man is an incompetent feckwit, who with his former 'mate' Bliar has sold (and raped and pillaged) this country to the lowest bidder, he is scared (and rightfully so) that he will not get voted back in so he's not going to call an election until he has to.
He's not man enough to put it to the country based on his performance but whatever happens, whoever's in charge next time round will inherit a whole lotta shit.
It really is amazing that such incompetents can get into such positions...........
