I want to Supercharge my Monaro VXR, trouble is I can't find a sensible insurance quote.
I am a mature owner who has never claimed so the £1000 odd premiums I have been quoted by Greenlight and A plan seem rediculous.
Any recommendations from you supercharged Boys (and girls)? I pay less than £600 for the std car.

Well im 38 and full no claims and mine cost me £699 with exhaust mod and A plan charged me only a extra £150 with the supercharger.
Which i think is a good price as my Evo 7 standard cost me £1100 a year.
So i think you will be looking at about £850.
Oh yeah, and i have 5 points on licence for speeding lol

i tried the a-plan route. Not good. Things have changed there and I would expect you to get a silly quote.

I seem to be a little confused about the insurance threads here. There seems to be some good rates for you peeps with current policies but us new guys seem to struggle. I recently took delivery of a new VXR8 and had already taken quotes of £750 for the stock version with A Plan. When it came to starting the policy I had to correct the girl as she understood it to be an LS2, and so they added another £750! She did later say the original quote was wrong. I decided to try the regular providers and hey ho Sainsbury's came up with £900. When I spoke to Flux they wanted £1500, TRACKER and couldn't get past the Sain's quote. All this was for the stock car and although I do have 6 points for SP30's the advertised companies were expensive to say the least. I dread to think what a S/C would do to the premium.

it goes alot on experience ie what cars you have driven before.

The VXR for me is the last (So far) in a long line of high performance cars that ive insured with A Plan hence my premium is pretty low at about £700 im 31 with 9 years no claims and a clean liscence.

I've yet to acquire my VXR8, but I'm currently running a modded 3000GT, which is still a seriously powerful car. For the last few years I've insured it with Sky Insurance and my renewal this year was £369. Admittedly Sky tend to insure ricers, but it may be worth your while asking them...
