Have a CV8 Monaro with Monkfish fitted Sport Pac and Road Response Pac. Already after a bit more power and was wondering what would be the best next mod? Haven't got a heap of gold coins so nothing too expensive please. Between £2k-£3k max. Thanks in advance.

save a few more pennies and try get one of the 2nd hand chargers that are going for around 3.5k fitted if you've got between 2-3k already. Failing that if you're mechanically minded you could buy a nice cam, some heads, FAST intake manifold and fit them for that sort of cash. Depends whether you want to go down the FI or NA route.

I had a second hand Sc fitted by Walkinshaws for £3800 fitted. maybe its worth calling them and see if they can locate another one for you but i know its getting closer to the 4k mark.

£2.99 for 25 BHP - BARGAIN!!
theory is it tells the ECU air is colder than it is, so advances the ignition.
I'm not going to buy one, but interested to know if the theory works and could it damage your engine?

Pity the fools who are sticking £2.99 resistors into their cars.

Someone making easy money there.

On a cold day...no.
On a hot day....possibly, just before you melt a piston crown.
Just shake your head, laugh and walk away...

Why not use some water injection into the intake? Snow Performance do some really cool stuff. Linky here:

When you get into the product lineup I reckon it could be really good combined with the GM kit. I've also had excellent service from them.

Latent heat of evaporation?

Does this really work, Mike? If you were starting with an na car of 475fwhp, what would this kit be worth? The advertised price for an NA GTO is $275, but it has to run mafless.

Change your gear box from MM6 ratios to M12, or diff from 3.46 to 3.9. Make better use of the power you already have.

I'd agree with that, especially since the AP's are a lot cheaper now... alternatively hold out for some VXR brakes. But YES on the ripshifter.

I know people are a bit preoccupied with power, but in most situations on the road i haven't wanted more power as much as brakes and suspension!
I've got APs and KW coilovers which are worth 50 - 75 bhp on any twisty road.

Good man, where is your sound clip?

Also what are the cam spec's mate? What springs? Comp 918's? Or something else similar?
If the cam is any good you should get that 50bhp at the rear. I hope you are tuning it mafless!

Can't give cam specs Gelf, I've been sworn to secrecy but its custom ground by Crane Cams. MOT Legal ? Lets just say its got a lumpy idle which needs a new idle tune.

I also installed a nice billet QTP split timing cover so I don't have to keep pulling the crank pulley everytime I try another cam.

Just booking a session on a local dyno to see what it makes. Then start on the the other things.
