65th Birthday & Retirement Ideas For my Dad
Discussion
Its coming up this Christmas and after a life of grafting in a garage the old man is finally calling it a day.
He's a pistonhead for sure.. but in more of a 'Fred Dibnah' kind of way ie: a bit of a slower pace but on a larger scale! Hes mostly worked on Cranes, Tractors and forklifts all his life.
So any ideas for a nice surprise? We are arranging a bit of a gathering and a quality meal but it would be nice to give him something a bit different to thank him for his life long hard work.
Hes a man of simple needs so something like a driving day would be wasted on him.
We've already dismissed a balloon ride. His only real hobby is playing the guitar... but he doesn't need any more as hes already got about 6.

Thats the kind of thing I was thinking (I think he would enjoy that more than a balloon ride) I'm sure there must be a similar one near us (we are midlands based) I'll look into it! Thanks.jeff m said:
Have you considered hiring a group (musical not hookers) for a party.
Now that is a bit different!! - he is always telling stories about the bands he supported back in the early days.Tunku said:
