Zagatto lights required
Discussion
Hi, please forgive my ignorance, I know nothing about Alfas. A friend of mine says that one of my cars shares the front fog/driving lights with an Alfa zagatto. I've looked on the internet breifly and can only see a SZ which looks like it has my lights. They are dead square, about 3 inches wide each made by carello. Is it only the SZ that has these (looks like a rare car), meaning that I'm unlikely to find them secondhand?
Thanks in advance, and appologies if my ignorance offends.

The SZ and RZ use the same lights as each other, but they're very rare, having been out of production for years now. The cars and the lights, that is.
Not sure which of your cars you're talking about, but I think the lights are unique to the SZ/RZ*, other than being used on the Aston Martin Bulldog concept - I'm not aware that any other production car ever used them. I could be wrong, though, and if something else does use them then it's good news for SZ/RZ owners, because it might give us another channel to get spares.
*edit - forgot about the Lancia Hyena, which I think uses the same ones. But with only 24 or so of them, that probably doesn't help.
...and we'll not mention your spelling of Zagato;)

I wondered that, and would guess by his username that we are talking about a Diablo...
yes
I just wasn't sure, because I thought there would be easier ways of getting a spare for a relatively recent Lamborghini.
Hi Jamie, I can get them from Lambo, just wondered if there was an easier plentiful supply. I know some people have struggled to find replacements.
I have 3 diablos, one of which (a 1998 car) has an earlier (1993) front end fitted to it (an SE30) which is very dramatic looking but clearly uses the earlier four square lights. The later front ends have lights that are easier to source.
Best wishes

Pete...go through Lambo, they will be cheaper and easier to source. Sourcing items for "interesting" cars from the Alfa group of the period (early 90s) is nigh on mission impossible at times - esp in the UK.
'Course, you could always flog one of the Diablos and buy a proper Italian Supercar, something with some history and pedigree (and none of the Diablos would see which way it went over a decent switchback )

Reading this again, they can't be the same lights - the SZ/RZ units aren't dead square, they're about 3 x 3.5 inches.Peter

Hi David. Sounds like good advice (except the bit about selling). Actually may cut from 3 down to 2 soon tomake room for the new one.'Course, you could always flog one of the Diablos and buy a proper Italian Supercar, something with some history and pedigree (and none of the Diablos would see which way it went over a decent switchback )

Thanks again
