I've had a '96 4.0l chim for a year now. It's had it's ups and downs - engine blew up taking the radiator with it, clutch failed, roof leaks mucho. I know the score with these cars, and i accept it happily. (especially as the waranty picked up the 4000 pound total for all this).

Now, the warranty is out, and i'm twitchy. Trading in is the obvious way to go, and a black Tuscan speed six with 18inch black wheels is the most evil wheeled object man has created. I need this car. I know i'm going to do it, i just need to know what i should go for, and what to avoid. I know electrics can be a problem etc, but what else - early cars with bad part batches and stuff.

I've got 30 grand to do this with, not lots for a tuscan, so i need to be careful. Please advise me, i am in pain.

ten-four...out.

NO!!!! BUY A PORSCHE.
WHY SPEND 30K AND HAVE TO PUT UP WITH SHODDY WORKMANSHIP AND DETAIL DESIGN.
" O ITS A TVR AND CHEAP PERFORMANCE".
IF THATS YOUR OPINION, NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

no idea how to help but just to say, buy it. At whatever cost, sell the house, wife and kids if need be, just buy it.
Hope that technical insight helped

You boring Muppet. He doesn't want a bloody Porsche mate. He probably (unlike you) wants to be different. If you can't stand TVR's what the f*** are you doing on the "General TVR stuff and gossip" forum???
Go and compare your boring car to something else, almost everyone on here is getting sick and tired of the "Porsche V TVR" debate.. Just let people buy what THEY like, not what you like....
