Rain prepared GTR

Help! I was at the track this past weekend and it poured all day on Saturday and the GTR was out in its first downpour. What suggestions do you guys have to make the best of this situation? I got rain inside the doors somehow (I guess through the locks). Also, it is a special treat when you want to get in or out with the doors the way they open. I had lots of water dumped right into the seats.

Otherwise the car worked great on Sunday once it stopped raining.

Just looking for some tips from guys that live in wet climates.

The water gets in the doors via the locks and it seeps in the helicopter vents and runs down the inside face and into the opening. Drill a small hole in the inner skin so that the door can drain when it is open.

When opening the doors you have no option if you are in it but if outside then open the door just a crack and reach in and retrieve the J cloth tucked between the roll bar and the underside of the roof. Use the J cloth to mop the water from the door.

In the rain, just before I come to a stop and open the door, I brake hard. This throws the water forward off the horizontal door section and reduced the 'lap wetting'!!! Chamois is your friend.

For tips on track driving in the wet, well, just have fun!

I've found that the straight line braking is still pretty good, but you can forget getting one the power early and take a bucket full of OPLOK with you!!

Thanks guys for the tips. I was mainly focused on tips for keeping the water out of the cab. Nice video Peter. We didn't even attempt to drive in the rain as it just seemed so pointless. Our conditions seemed much wetter than Peter's video where, at times, there was standing water on the track. The braking and hidden towel tricks were just what I was hoping to learn.
