Ebay/paypal getting a bit of a joke now...
Discussion
I've been getting a bit pissed off with ebay in general recently. Mostly about how its all now centred around making buyers happy and just trying to f
k over the sellers.
Today I have sold a head unit on ebay. Now, for whatever reason, paypal/ebay have decided this is a high risk sale and so are withholding the money from me until the buyer has left positive feedback or after 21 days with no dispute being filed!
WFT!!??? Why should I send out an item which I have not received the money for???
Also yesterday, the auction on our Yaris ended with a winning bidder. We have had the car on ebay numerous times before with either no shows or people just being arses. Today, the guy actually came to take it. We insisted on the phone last night (and was also in the description) that he paid a £200 deposit, which he did.
He comes to collect the car, obviously I let him look around first but then he asks "Can I take it for a test drive?"...
"No" was my reply, which returned a stunned face. "You have already agreed to buy the car and paid a deposit so no, you can't drive it until the money is in my hands, take it or loose your deposit".
A bit harsh maybe, but we have been f
ked about so much with this car that I wasnt going to bend over backwards for him to mess me about. Why can people not understand that you buy a car on ebay in an auction with 7 days prior to its end to view the car and agree to buy it when you make a bid.
f
k off if you dont like it, im not having you come round and try to haggle me down or get your deposit back just because you couldnt be bothered to come and view the car!
He took it in the end and we havent heard anything since, so I assume he is happy with it!

Once you've got some seller feedbacks (plus those star things) built up Paypal dont hold you to ransom
Mrs TB sold on there as a registered business seller and built up lots of star thingies, perfect feedback, but still found ebay and paypal so goddamn awful that she no longer trades there. She's been far happier after leaving that particular menagerie, given recent changes they made it was a good move.I've had paypal hold money from me until i received positive feedback from the buyer, wasn't happy about posting the item but didn't see i had a choice. I sent the item and didn't hear anything from the buyer for over a week as he had been away, he was happy and left feedback but it was well over a week after sending the item that i received the money!

That's disgraceful - my last two buyers were pikey thieves who invented problems just to try to get their money back. I refused and got two negs in reply. So I'm not playing this arse-kicking game any more. f

Ordered a suit for my baby for a wedding today. ordered and paid 2 weeks ago, not arrived. no communication from seller, no refund, no item. phoned up to be told she doesnt live at the address and the person wouldn't give me her number.
The seller is still buying on ebay yet wont answer my mails. -ve feedback left, chargeback initiated but shes spending my money and i wont ever get it back. w

I will be honest, as I travel a lot witgh work, i tend to do feedback once a month or so, and if anyone chases me for it, I used to think, ahh, fxxk em and not do it!
But now am wondering if this is why they are chasing up...?

I can't complete my setting up of a sellers account so I contacted ebay over a month ago, & have sent a further three emails since. I have received three replies, two exactly the same word for word telling me that my problem had been sent to tech support & one reply which was no help what so ever. They have done absolutely nothing & I still can not set up a sellers account. I think ebay is absolutely f

tting expensive for selling a car! I got let down by a buyer who bid on my old SLK and got left with a (iirc) 43 quid bill (plus listing fee of 8) - that's a lot of cash ("buyer" reimbursed).Next time round blokey rings up after one day and I pulled the auction. As far as I'm aware that's just the 8 quid listing fee.
Paypal are pissing me around at the mo... I bought something for about £12 and I paid for it out of one of bank accounts... But I picked the wrong bank card for it to come out of which didnt have any money in it. However the money went through and paid for the item, and it came, everything was good. Then a few days after that, paypal said my bank had snatched the money back and left my paypal account £12 in the red. my account has been limited and apprently the only wsy I can pay them back is if I send a cheque or postal order to them, other than that I can add funds to my account which takes up to 9days.... What is going on... I rang them up and they said they cannot take payment over the phone. Whats wrong with instant transactions, All I want to do is pay them the money I owe them now.. Not in 9 days and not via post....
