In the market for a Mk3 GTI 16V

Hello all,
As title, I've decided I'm sick of French cars so want something German.
I'm after the 16V with the ABF engine as anything else is pointless.
Mileage is not that important, though under 130k would be nice.
Would prefer a black one but again, I'm open to colour options.
Would like as much SH as possible.
How much am I looking to pay in todays market? I would like the car to be as looked after as possible with no dodgy after market lights etc but would be ok with lowered suspension or any performance mods.
Not too much to ask for. I'm thinking I shouldn't have to pay any more than 1500.
Anyone have any input or seen any knocking about?
