370ish bhp/ 330 or 340?lbft vs 505bhp/ loads more torque?!

Not that far off IMHO... a poor gearchange/ start could have made all the difference.

I think we were just beaten by one at the speed trails, but we didnt have a good run this year, our PB from last year was quicker than the Z06 managed. thumbup Do not underestimate a Cerbera!

Longbow,s Cerb is no slouch.I can personally testify to that. But FT proved that cars have moved on since the Clarkson video.

Only a second and 3mph though which for +100hp & ++lbs is pretty good imho and a credit. Last year I crossed the line at 161 at 3/4 mile with 435hp so at 7/8ths with 450hp I'like to think the result would be a lot more even if not in the cerberas favour wink, great shame i had to miss it.

I'd say that was a cracking result for the Cerbie!! the camera at the finish line shows just how close it was in real terms at the end. great car, great driving and the Cerbie can hold its (several) heads up high and proud smile Thanks for posting thumbup

Exactly - The Cerb, is a car from a decade ago. Designed and built by a little British company in some garden sheds in Blackpool, and it can still (just about) hold it's own against the oppostion from the major International Multi-million dollar Big Boys - thats just one of the many reasons why I love it.

It isn't available as such, and it's 'owned' by Javelin Trackdays so I'm not in a position to freely distribute it. It isn't great, certainly not 'saleable', but there are a few personalities from PH on HD camera (Cyclone1, LuckyP etc) so to them it'd be nice to have. I'd be happy to give a copy to people I've known on here for some time (i.e. those I trust - you included Mark!), but I must stress this isn't 'my' video to freely distribute.

Initially poor response from a couple of the vette lot on thier forum.

The Z06 is mighty, and I am a huge fan of the car (as many in that forum know) - however the Cerb should still command the respect it deserves, the Z06 is the humbled one, for its power/torque/development budget it should be alot quicker, the fact that theres an AJP (not even a short inductioned 4.5, though a superbly performing/launched 4.2 granted) screaming alongside 3mph down at 160mph plus is nothing to be sniffed at.

Shame on them, dealers too I think... noted. Poor.

I didnt think you were a fan of the car.You seem to deride Vettes in general.I have to agree though. The Vette forum can be a funny lot.And not much happens on there. And their is no advice on techincal aspects. That could probably be down to the fact that nothing goes wrong with the cars. This forum still rates as the best.thumbup

I am a huge fan of the Z06, just ask Cuban. smile I love them, I'll have mine in Le Mans blue please, black leather interior and I would quite like the remote exhaust valve fitted. wink

I have spent farrrr too much time at Haunundiers on the Mulsanne to not let the vette get under my skin a little... cloud9

thumbup Great cars, not so much of a fan of the C5's but that is purely an aesthetics thing... oh and I like my AJP8s, alot, which probably makes it seem like I dislike the LS engines - not true at all - fantastic engines, if I owned a 'misfire', I would be saving up to get one fitted. wink
