Not a show I watch but I find this all rather amusing.

Apparently the judges are trying desperately to rid the show of John Sergeant but the public keep voting him in.

There is a poll on this page, go on, do your bit. Keep the old codger dancing!

He's so bad, it's actually good.

Keep him in, more fun to wind the judges up.

I was watching BBC Breakfast this morning and before the end of the show they were going to have one of the judges come on and moan about how he's still on!

That's like Gavin in Natural Born Sellers - he came last every week but the winner kept saving him because he was no threat - well until the last round of course!

A proud foot soldier of Sarge's Army here.

Ive voted for The Sarge to stay in for the last three weeks. Its been obvious what his ploy has been from the state and its hilarious, truely showing up reality tv for the piss-take it is.

As a tuneless bloke who is also learning to dance at the moment I am in full sympathy with him!

So glad I recorded the results show and have avoided all forms of the BBC and Yahoo.co.uk today.

They've been rickrolled or flashmobbed or something (I'm not really sure what those things mean though). smile

How can anyone not like watching Pooh dance? He's a rubbish dancer but at the end of the day it's all about entertainment and I'd rather watch Pooh dance than some of the other contestants who take it all far too seriously.

Look at it from the BBCs point of view.

They'll ask numerous fit young female and male contestants to take part AND John Sergeant. I think they knew what they were doing and it's working as it's on the news and even being talked about on here.

Can't say I've seen him dance even on any news program but I'm sure it's probably like Jabba the Hut with one left foot trying to mount Princess Leia.

Precisely. The whole thing is a publicity stunt. A very enjoyable one though. AND it knocks X Factor off the front page. The double whammy.

To be fair to the other dancers though, how would you feel if you worked you a**e off 40+ hours a week, producing a high quality exhibition of a skill none of them had 3 months ago - and then you get ousted by someone who, by his own admission, has barely done close to the other contestants in training/effort and who clearly is eons away in skill and ability?

Notwithstanding the fact that this is a reality TV show (and therefore wholly unimportant in the wider scheme of things), it does raise the issue that people seem to be fundamentally voting for mediocrity, which whatever your view of John Sargeant/the show, is hardly a sensible approach to take? Ultimately, keep on voting this way - however "piss take" you may think your vote is - and the show goes no where but down as all you will have is joke contestants; a shame for the millions who genuinely appreciate quality and effort.

That Lisa Snowdon is fit. More than I can say for John Sergeant.
