Current waiting time for an NIP?

Hi all,

Just wondering (out of pure curiosity, you understand) how long an NIP typically takes to arrive these days? Does it vary dramatically from force to force? Also, I've heard that they need to get it to you within 14 days otherwise you've got away with it. Is that true?

NIP has to be posted within 14 days to registered keeper.

So allowing for postage, about 17 days.

My one, from the lovely automons at South Wales 'Safety' Camera Partnership, took bang on seven days to arrive.

And no, I didn't sign it and are sending them copious amounts of correspondance in reply to their threats.
