......anyone just see the couple who had £120K on various cards and loans and challenged the agreements etc and avoided paying £100k of it......?

A chap I know ran up personal debts in excess of 1/4 million on purpose. He basically asset stripped his entire life right down to selling his house back in the good old days.
Sat around one night in 2002 he told me how he planned to do all this and 'piss off to the sun'.
He now lives in Thailand and according to his last set of drunken boasts cleared around 1/2 million after settling with his creditors for a fraction of what he'd owed them.
Makes me wonder sometimes if I should have done the same thing.......
