Shoots with an over-and-under. Can't find a link but there was a rather funny letter in The Observer this Sunday from someone who had also noticed this in the previous Sunday's paper. I too raised an eyebrow.
To the point: can anyone link me to it?

Can some one explain the significance?
Is there a big side by side / under/over argument going on or something?

Any decent chap of the proper breeding would of coarse be using a side by side. Its just the done thing wink

One always uses a side by side for shooting peasants.

BTW I've got a lovely Beretta Silver Pigeon so I'm on the peasants side.

Has been for many years. U/O considered by some to be very noov. As are guns with ejectors for the even more elitist - somehow its cheating wink

However many arrivistes, having done a 'little' research know this, so pop out to the shops and buy a pair of side by sides, plus fours, Aigle wellies, Holland cartridges, new canvas sided Landy - the works - and then proceed to miss everything. Chortle.

GF uses anAmerican Police issue pump-action with extended barrel (to make it UK legal).
I don't argue with her often!

My old man used to roll up at shoots with his denison smock on brandishing a Browning A5 semi firing magnum shells. No-one laughed at him (to his face).
