At what age did you find out there was no Santa!
Discussion
I was about 9 or 10 used to leave my doll on the couch for santa to kiss goodnight and a few cookies and carrots.
Wierd thing was though is i lived in the middle east at the time and there was no snow and no chimney for him to come down so couldn't for the life of me fathom out where he would get in to drop my gifts off.

I've been wondering about this - my eldest lad is 10 and I think he's just scared not to believe in case the pressies don't come.
Bit of a dilemma - I don't want him being the only one in his class who still believes and being ridiculed for it but on the other hand don't want him spoiling the magic for the younger two.

To all parentsJust tell your kids that Santa is a game that grown ups play.
The aim of the game is to keep pretending that he exists, especially to little children, and only to tell people that's pretend when they work it out for themselves.
This way you can answer the "Does he exist?" question perfectly honestly and can avoid older kids telling the younger ones as they'll think they are playing the grown ups game (so they feel grown up).
Also you can carry on playing the game and pretending for as long as you like. You haven't spoiled it, you've simply explained the rules.

Option 2:
Terry Pratchet suggests answering "Does it matter if you get your presents anyway?"
When I tried telling my son about Santa he thought his old man had lost the plot and started humoring me. He was only two!
I was about 5 or 6 and I conducted a little experiment to find out. When I went to get some carrots to put out for the reindeers on Christmas Eve I noted how many there were. On Christmas day I re-checked the carrots - there were back up to the total amount! That confirmed it for me

Sneaky bugger!
.My parents always took a bite out of it and left it.
But I like the way you thought at 5 or 6 years old!

I guessed about Santa at about 8 years old when all the presents I'd found under my parents bed were from Santa on Xmas day, and the labels were written in my mums handwriting. I confronted her and she 'fessed.
