My seatbelt isn't doing its inertia thing (i.e. clicking to stop). I need to get at it so I can work out if its terminal or not, how the devil do I get to it??

Also my 5 series has those halo side lights which look pretty cool. I've often thought the Viper's side lights are rubbish although the LED's Dave sent have made an improvement. I've now found this Angel Eyes, I'm not going to do it but wouldn't that look great at dusk with 2 smallish halo's in each lense!!

Firstly my antivirus software is not allowing me access to the angel eyes link you have posted, apparently there is a Trojan/Spyware on the page, so please be careful everyone.

To get to the seatbelts I think you will need to remove the panel from behind the seats. You will need to refer to the manual, but I think both seats will need to come out along with the centre consol etc in order to access the screws etc.

Hmmm, my anti crappola device spotted nothing? It was just a link to a store selling DIY CCFL rings of various sizes and colours, I figure if you were determined you could get the lamp apart and fit the rings over the main beam and indicator lights. Just an idea really.

I figured the belt was not going to be easy to get to. I'm wondering if WD40 might not fix it as sometimes it works... My next house is definitely a minimum of a double garage as in my single now I simply cannot investigate this type of issue over the winter :-(

i think he headlight and lense design itself, has something to do with the poor brightness of the lamps

even with the HID's and new side lamp LED cluster that Baz fitted in the summer for me there isnt a huge improvement in brightness on the actual road when driving, slightly better id say, but much nicer whiter light to look at

I can honestly say that I think the HID's have given a marked improvement in visibility, much brighter, whiter light, huge difference. I'm really pleased with them. I'm doing the fogs next.

Yeah, the HIDS are great, I found it undriveable at night with the regular bulbs, especially with oncoming traffic where you were blinded as they passed by. The CCFL rings are not driving lights though, they are the first lights that come on.

What manual do I need to get for the belts? The shop one that pops up on ebay every now and then?

Yep, you'll need a 97 manual really, but the basics of getting to them is pretty much the same on them all, it's worth getting a manual so that you have one, they are really useful.

They are available from the Viper Store, but their prices seem pretty flaming high to me!
Keep an eye on ebay motors in the states they pop up pretty regularly.

If you get stuck you can always pop down to me and we'll have a look at it together if you like.

Good luck mate

Seat belts are pretty easy really remove seats 4 15mm nuts/bolts each side, but use tape or old blankets to protect interior best if you have two peopl to twist the seat so it comes out clean.

Remove centre console pull off radio surround unscrew gear knob disconnect heated screen windows etc four screws and you can lift off console, from memory it does not need to come all the way off just enough to free the back panel.

Remove screws holding back panel and seatbelt tail that vanishes into rear panel disconnect imobiliser lock wiring in centre glove box.

Lift up panel and remove exposing seatbelts total time for me was about 20 minutes.

Thats great, thanks guys. I'm going to get the service manual as well as I'm fairly competent with a spanner.
