Tuscan / Vixen seats
Discussion
Come on all you clever people.... who knows of some good seats to put into my (1970) Tuscan, I'm 6'1 with a long back and short legs! Cobra / Corbeau classic look seats leave me with my head rubbing on the headlin! I've heard that Mazda MX5 seats are quite good - any views?
I only need the seats to finish the car so would be grateful of any suggestions.

MX5 seats are like rocking horse st - Tried to find some a while ago, and couldn't get any at all. We ended up recovering the originals on the M, although we tried a fixed back westie seat too, but headroom was a nightmare (i'm 6'8") - The originals are spot on, although wearing a helmet could be interesting!
Good luck,
Tony

Always thought XJS seats might fit, but never tried it. Same can be said for Griff seats. At least you're sticking to the marque.
The trouble with racing bucket seats it that the seat back tends to be more upright and makes the headroom situation worse. Having said that, my Vixen was fitted with Corbeau Monza Kevlar seats and I was able to sit in quite happily (6'2").

I have just fitted Mazda Miata seats to my 3000M. Recovered them in Leather first. I used the TVR runners which was quite easy and required cutting off the TVR seat mounting studs, drilling the rear one out as a mounting hole and drilling a new hole at the front. The rails are about 10 - 15mm further apart than the TVR ones so you need to file the mounting holes in the body into slots, or drill a new set of holes. Seats are about 25mm wider than ideal (but only a tad wider than the TVR seats) and should be biased towards the outside of the car but not too much or the back adjustment leaver is difficult to operate. You get no more space in the car with these seats. They are about as high as TVR seats that have not sagged and do not go back any further. (Back rest hits against transmission tunnel) Quite comfortable and have headrest speakers that can be heard as you are driving along Have not done a long journey since I put them in but will let you know how they are if anyone is interested when the snow has gone. So far very satisfied. They do not look out of place or period in the car.
