Arrrrrrrrrrrghh

DWP you have my sympathies.
One week into the ownership of our Z4 my wife phones me at work to tell me she has managed to catch the passenger side door on a pillar. She actually managed to pin the car to the pillar to the point where the car would not move any further forward. A helpful passer by who witnessed the whole sorry affair managed to reverse our car off the pillar.
£2K later it was as right as rain! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghh!

It's been a while now, but I did manage to supply the TVR bodywork repair community with some easily-avoidable work - the Griff was never the victim of self-inflicted harm, but the Tuscan had a substantial chunk taken out of the offside sill when I hit a lump of concrete resting in the middle of the A329M, and then I managed to thoroughly confuse the window controllers one dark night and pulled the door shut with the window somehow fully open, which duly removed a decent sized chunk of the paint on the front pillar. The Tuscan also had a very good go at stuffing its nose into the house at 45 degrees to the brickwork next to the front door as it crept very, very slowly down the drive because I'd neglected to leave it in reverse...I parked it at least 6 feet away from the house, and when I opened the front door a couple of hours later it was about an inch from the wall....
Aaaaarrrrggggghhhhh..... from me too...!
I stuffed my works van into 2 foot of water on a blind bend in the middle of nowhere....
Flooded road... engine died and I was stranded for 45 mins waiting for recovery, water rising slowly...
Good news tho, great mechanic mate removed glow plugs and hoses and it span over with water being shot out of the cylinders...
One oil change and new filters and its running like it used to..

All my own fault. Just managed to scrape the rear near side panel on my Griff. Bloody garage. Bloody pillock driving. So annoyed with myself. It's such a lovely colour. Halcyon Atlantic. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

You painted your garage Halcyon Atlantic...?Oh i have sooo much sympathy for those who have done this. my previous car, phase 2 172, was thin enough to fit easily into my garage, and i STILL managed to scrape both bloody mirrors!!!!!! Then, sold it for a citroen c4 coupe, which is a wee bit too wide, so i put foam on the walls, and scuffed part of the rear quarter panel on the sodding foam.......
What a pillock, our lass said the same thing, and she's right!!

I can't keep anything "nice" for long.
I was building my Caterham... it wasn't even a car at this point... and I walked around the back of the car with the exhaust manifold in my hand DRAGGING it across the rear panel SCERRRRATCH. FECK ARSE BALTICS.
Still that all got resolved when, 5 months after putting it onto the road, I smashed up the rear panel at Bruntingthorpe. That was cosmic karma at work there. Full rear-end rebuild including paint for £3K out of my own pocket.
Reckon a tin of touch-up would have been preferable.

ker!!I know I’ve said this before, but you hang lengths of rope from the ceiling.
The ropes hang so that you touch the rope just before you touch anything that might scratch the car.
The car touches the bottom of the rope, (which you can’t see). The top of the rope, that you can see moves.
This is your cue to stop without scratching the car.

Sir...not sure where in West London you are but may i politely suggest you call Tim at Prestige Paint Repairs on 07875262023 - he can do halcyon atlantis.....assuming you have only scraped the paint and not completely sh*gged the wing
I read somewhere that if a TVR hasn't been used for some time you should push it out of the garage rather than start it up inside.
So I did - except that there's a slight slope outside and the car rolled slowly but unstoppably into my BMW 730 parked behind it... crunch, busted indicator glass. Damn.

only a tiny chip though would have been far worse if I had scraped it.
