Would you hit a Woman?
Discussion
I have pushed and shaken a woman as an alternative to physical violence when being threatened, but thats my limit.
Rarely do you hear cases of guys taking women to court, for assault and when you do, it normally involves infidelity or someone`s todger getting chopped off.
Some women can be extremely aggressive and violent. They can push your buttons beyond the point that another man would get a punch for, is it because they know you wont fight back?
Perhaps men are more chivalrous than we get credit for?
Why do men tolerate things from women, that another man could not get away with, we would swicth to attack mode, in an instant?
Why does the law take a far harder line on men assaulting women, but turn a blind eye when it is the other way around?

We have discussed this many times.
For the most part the concensus is that the only possible, acceptable excuse for physically striking anyone is in self-defence, or the defence of others who are themselves defenceless.
If I was attacked and in fear of bodily injury, or worse, I would defend myself if I could not get away. The last consideration I would have in those extreme circumstances would be the sex of the attacker. It's irrelevant.
Striking a woman for any other purpose is utterly unacceptable. But it's just as unacceptable to hit a bloke.

No-one is gonna come on here and admit to hitting a women are they?
I think that neither men nor women should seriously raise their hands to one another. I despise women who will hit a man knowing he won't raise his hands in return. I've seen women abuse this. It's just wrong.
Play fighting, messing around is ok. Can be quite fun actually

I had to once, a big fat woman(apparantly), bouncer kicked off with me and started punching me and wouldn't stop. I pulled her off balance and half threw a left hand which felled the beast.
Got the living pi$$ kicked out of me by the other bouncers until the one with my thumb in his eye screamed for them to stop. Then when I let go, they chinned me again. hey ho.

Once had a GF who completely spat her dummy at me because I came down with the fly and wanted to go home from a party at midnight and die quietly in my own bed!
(you know that feeling)
She stropped after me all the way across the town to the car park, ranted all the way back to her house and when I walked he rto the front door she started hitting me
I eventually pushed her up against the front door with a bit of a thud but didn't hit her.
the next time I felt well enough to see her I dumped her, which prompted her to tell all our mutual friends (including the current wife) that I hit her

Pushing buttons? That's just verbal and no excuse. Sticks and stones. Landing a blow is a different matter.Rarely do you hear cases of guys taking women to court, for assault and when you do, it normally involves infidelity or someone`s todger getting chopped off.

Thankfully I believe that for the very most part British blokes are reasonably decent.Jetl3on said:

What? I don't have to tolerate anything from anyone. I haven't been in a physical altercation in decades. I haven't even had a verbal confrontation in anything other than a heated discussion in pretty much the same time. To be honest - if an acquaintance of either sex turned out to be violent I would disassociate myself from them forever immediately. I recognise some people are not so lucky. They find themselves in a tougher environment. I respect those that deal with that well greatly.

Not sure that's true. We blokes tend to take a hard line on ourselves because our father's taught us not to hit a girl. It's a good rule. We're strong and capable of doing a lot of damage. So it's best avoided. By being somewhere else, usually.I have once, i'll never forgive myself, the moment i did it i became no better than my father.
It was one of those split seconds when you just lash out, i had been repeatedly hit over the head and they wouldnt stop, i've never had a headache like that in my life before it was so bad i burried my head in the sand on the beach (was pissed at the time and it was on a night out)
Basically they wouldn't stop i was trying to get away as i could feel myself getting to the point where i was going to murder them. She hit me again just behind the ear and that was when i swung around and clouted her in the lower part of her mouth. I't wasnt full force but it was enough to make her stop.
Just thinking about it now upsets me and i wish i could undo what i did that night.
I was arrested for assult, i spent the night in a cell, admitted to what i had done and the charges where dropped.
