If only fools and horses were made today would it be a great success that it was or would it be classed as a bunch of Council house Pikeys/scum/chav (or whatever this weeks buzzword is) and have fallen of the RADAR?

It very nearly did.

It was made back in the time when shows were allowed a few series' to establish themselves.

Sadly, the beeb tried the same approach recently with 'My Family'

Apparently, Jim Broadbent was originally meant to play the role - I can't imagine what the series would have been like if he had.

He turned it dow 'cos he wanted to concentrate on Theatre work.
