mobile phone tapping
Discussion
GSM mobile phones are exceedingly difficult to tap unless you have the resources of a large government or something who can afford the expensive equipment to break the encryption between you and the cell tower. Usually these people don't bother as it is far easier to ask the phone provider to record it for them, send the CD in the post, where it then gets lost when the postman thinks it is something valuable and half-inches it.

If its the government then no they wont. Not so sure about police, if they only want call record data, then they might tell you,but I doubt it, if they are actively monitoring your number, then no.
In fact, only relevant security cleared people at your provider could check in any case, and they wont be the drones on the helpdesk, if you did get thro to one of them, they are not going to tell you anyway..
I think it unlikely you are being monitored,unless.... what have you done ?

Nope, evidence can be seized without your knowledge. There is no requirement to tell you and there never has been. Not sure if you are concerned about being recorded. Providers do not routinely do this. They can, but dont do it as a regular thing. Only if they have been told or discovered themselves, they will not be doing this.
Tin foil hat? What exactly have you done?
