Strange window problem
Discussion
Did a search for something similar but just found tales of doors/windows not working at all, or working when they're not meant to !! My problem's a little different, so looking for some pointers.
When trying to get into the car (01 Tuscan) I press the door button, and the car lowers the window half way, then waits a good 5 seconds before opening the door .. and also lowers window all the way down! When I get in, window goes back up to half way. When I arm alarm, window goes up but not all the way to the top! Tried all usual methods of arming/disarming alarm etc. When I get out the car, same happens. Passenger side is fine. Having to go into passenger side when I leave the car so I can put the drivers window up. Very annoying fault !!
Any ideas of what to look for, how and where to look, pictures etc. Hoping to get it fixed soon.

Its the window module. sometimes they fix themselves if its the driver side swap it for the passenger one. Wont fix the problem but less annoying. They are underneath the centre capping beside the ashtray its a black ali box about 100x75x50 on a multi plug. They can be repaired it's just a pcb with a couple of micro switches.

I had something very similar. It was the door lock itself that had come loose.

Sounds to me just like the window motor encoder playing up. Usual process - swap door ECU's over (under centre console, either side of the ashtray) and see if the fault moves. If not, take the door card off and clean/dry/seal the encoder (mounted on top of the window motor) and if that doesn't fix it then take the other door card off and swap over the encoders - if the fault moves you know what it is, replacement isn't expensive, available from most of the usual sources.
Of course, I could be wrong.......

Lol, I have the exact same problem on the passenger side of mine as well. When I first got the car the window worked fine however it was a rainy day and after a couple of hours driving, (couldn't help it, kid with knew toy), it started doing the same thing. Reckon water must have got in and messed it up.
The drivers door does it every so often on a rainy day but clears itself.
I'm going to get it looked at and fixed when the car goes in for the clutch to be replaced, along with the de-cats, and the CCC's and the MOT, and the service!!!
Shouldn't cost me TOO much, lol!
