Hello Cebera lovers.

I bought myself a TVR Cebera. Now its on a dutch airport waiting for me transporting it to my home.

Meanwhile i try to find out the things i have to do so i can get the car fitted officialy with Dutch license plates.

Is it true i have to swap the headlights? Does anybody know if this is true?

Please let me know if there is any experience of getting the Cebera trough Customs, Mot and Officialy registered in The Netherlands.

You need new headlight glass, reflectors, rubbers and a tube of silicon to bond the glass to the bodywork. If they're the same as the Chimaera's (looks that way to me) they're 'standard' Bosch/Automotive Lighting 180 mm units. Nimag (the Dutch importers) will have all the parts in stock, cost me 230 euro two years ago all in.

There must be at least half a dozen Cerbies in the Netherlands now - TheFarmer on here imported one a year or two ago, and DutchCerbera I think went through all the hoops fairly recently - might be worth PM'ing either.

So it's not enough of swapping the headlight glass. Good to know there are known members who went trough the procedures. I will PM them, i'm sure they know what to do more if there is so. Tnx

Not sure about that but I can pretty much guarantee you don't want to re-use the old ones anyway - if they're still sort of shiny inside they won't be after you have had them in your hands!

I doubt if you will need new reflectors, unless they are in poor condition, as the LHD/RHD beam forming is done in the fresnel lenzes (glass)

scratchchin Ok, they are not from plastic though? Well already tryed to PM the guys but It's not allowed the first 24hours of beeing member whistle. P.s. you sure it's TheFamer? I cant find him in the member list. Will PM DutchCebera tomorow. Will Post if he had specific things to worry about.

Ones it's trough procedures, the car will get a full body and technical checkup. I think not only the glass is ready for replacement. Already read a lot of hints on the form (dryed out rubbers (gasoline) etc. etc..) about Cebera specific 'points of interrest'.

But... it's al worth it i 'gues'.

Sidelight position? I don't remember... Anyway I can pretty much guarantee you that if the reflectors are still the originals on a '97 car, the chrome will come off in your hands if you as much as touch them... BTDTGTT.

you have to change the front lights.
back lights you just have to remove the fog light, just the light it self not the unit, rest is ok.

Important to know, at Nimag the have no idea about the AJP engine, but they can perhaps help you with the rest.

I did the whole proces recenlty.....

PM me i can call you in the evening

Rik

I think that applies up to and including '97 cars IIRC, after that you must have a rear fog light either on the opposite side of where it is on UK cars or two of them, which means swapping the rear light clusters for LHD ones - cheap if they're still the Fiesta units, else... eek

In addition to removing the foglight lamp itself you must remove the control lamp for the fog lights in the dashboard.

the thing is that you have to have a fog light on the back of the car after dec. 1997.
Before it is allowed and if you have it it should be on the left side. So in his case just make sure that the fog light does not work. for the front lights i changed the whole unit. I have no idea about the costs. I can check at home but i guess like E 300

P.S. i did not remove a control light. but I can ask TVR Belgium if they did, but i don't think so

Exactly.

And the control lamp for the switch in the instrument panel wink (otherwise a driver could still think they have switched on a rear fog light where in reality they haven't).

You should be able to just switch over the Fog lights to the Left, and extend the wiring loom.

Well, i think very good information so far. The Dutch import rules have main focus on headlights en fog light(s). No problems with loud tailpipe sound? i mean there are db limits. I can imagin that a standard cebera makes to much noise according to regulation. No problems getting the car trough (import) check with this point of concern?

P.s. Will PM you Rik.

for the yearly check you have to make sure that it does not work, removing the light, and after you can put it back... wink even easier

Hi,

I have bought in 2006 a Cerbera in UK an homologated the Car in Germany. I needed 4 month for the momologation but it is possible. There is no COC for the Cerbera but for the German TÜV the VCA was ok. I have all the papars as PDF files and if it is helpfull for I can email them to you.

I´m sure you will have a lot off fun with your Cerbera.

Best regards

Johannes
