A little surprised I've not seen mention of this on here yet - looks amazing (I hesitate to use "Ground Breaking") from the TV ads.
There are a couple of preview videos on the official site: http://www.mirrorsedge.com/ls/en/index.asp Makes it look like a first person parkour simulator, which I guess is where the idea came from. Guess the danger is that it's astonishing to watch, but a nightmare to play - there are some obvious bits in the videos where the player knows exactly what's round the corner.
Anyone picking up a copy later today?

I've played the PS3 demo after it was mentioned on here and it was good, not sure if it's worth the full monty though as I can't see the longevity there. If there weren't so many other good games out at the moment I probably would have got it but for me I'll wait until it hits the bargain bucket.
Played the demo and it was pretty good, found fighting to be a bit awkward though but mainly because I was struggling to remember all the buttons and combinations to achieve different things.
Would pick it up if I saw it cheap or will just rent it as I can't see myself playing it after completing it once.

A game of jumping puzzles? AAArggghhhhh!!!!!! The amount of games I've given up on because I can't make a jump is just stupid Makes it look like a first person parkour simulator

Case in point...
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, on N64.
You had to jump from ledge to ledge up a cliff face. Couldn't get past it. I think that was right at the start!!!

Played the demo, wasn't entirely impressed. Combat was clumsy, controls unintuitive and the parkour bits just left me a bit cold. Assassins Creed did much the same thing but felt far more complete..
I enjoyed the Mirrors Edge demo loads more than Ass Creed, in Mirrors Edge you're controlling individual limbs to an extent and when you make a jump it's because you've pulled it off through skill and excellent timing, as opposed to holding down a couple of buttons in AC. The rush when you got the lines together was one of the most visceral gaming experiences I've had in quite some time, really making my guts churn as I jumped twenty feet across a gap towards a pole that I may or may not be able to grab in time.
Granted the combat was tricky, but as someone else mentioned this is more likely to me not being so familiar with the controls, I think the main idea is to avoid combat unless absolutely necessary too, being far better to flee than engage a bunch of armed foes.
I really enjoyed the demo, kept restarting it to try and get it as smooth as possible so I think the time trials mode will be one for me.
The combat did feel a little clumsy but from what I can see the game is based around getting away from the enemies so you only really need to knock 'em back for a second to get on your way.
Really like the idea of 'Runner Vision' where it highlights the places to go in red. Much better than the glowing trail rubbish on Fable II.
Would really like to buy it but with such a short play time I don't think could justify it.
