Just to start i am categorically 100% against drink driving.

BUT

Its coming up to that holiday season where with party's and festivities where "The Morning After" can be an issue. I know it should be a case of if your going to drive don't drink but sometimes, say after lunch the next day i think is there any slight possible chance that you could be over the limit and not know it as it can take up to 12 hours for 4 - 5 pints to get out of your system.

Does anyone have or use a home Breathalyser kit to double check and be on the safe side ?

There's one endorsed by Stirling Moss that's regularly advertised in the back pages in Evo. I'm sure someone will be along in a minute with the name of said device...

(if not, I'll have a look tonight)

My other half was given one. He tried it at home the other night. After two pints and two very large vodka and oranges it still displayed the orange safe to drive light. Only after swilling neat vodka and blowing straight into it did it show red.
Might be fun for a novelty but I would never trust it.
And worthless as a defence in court.

I just go by my own rule.
If I have to question myself if I am still over the limit, I don't drive until I know I am definately not.

A few years ago we were on a stag party snowboarding in the alps, no driving for a week. One of my mates had one and the competition was stop drinking at 2 and who had the highest blood alcohol level by 10am (childish i know)

If i don't feel right yes i wont drive

That's a good rule, and you should definitely stick to that.

But sometimes, it's not always as easy as that. There are so many variable factors, that to be 100% sure, you would have to put on a ridiculous saftey margin. Again, that's what I'd recommend people should do.
