I just wanted to talk old cars and post some pictures of one of my restoration projects. But I can't work out how to post pic's? Can anybody help??
Cheers guys, worked it out. Just coming into the third year of what should have been a one year restoration. But hey, the car was a little worn out. Here's a few of my hundreds of pictures to give you a feel for it. The car is being restored in Poland. Complete nut and bolt restoration with a few upgrades?? 1959 Facel Vega HK500. Silver with Red.

Firstly, you need to upload your photos to one of the free sites like www.photobucket.com You can open an account and then it asks you which photos you want to upload from your computer. be sure before you do so that you have converted the photo on your computer to a low resolution format, say 800x600 pixels, otherwise it'll take an age to upload. Once on the photobucket site you'll see four lines under the photo with various definitions such as "Email and IM" but you want to left click on the IMG code then right click to copy it. Then all you do is to finish your post and right click and paste as I've done here. Simple ain't it! It took me a while but now it is second nature. Oh, and a tip; if you are going to upload a lot of photos create separate albums for each category or else you'll end up scrolling through laods of photos one day to find the one you want!

To post pictures they must be available on the internet already.At the top of the window where you post you comments there is a link labelled "Formatting Help" if you click on this you will get a popup with some stuff about how to post and format stuff here.
For pictures you [ pic ] then the URL of the picture [ /pic ]
(only with out the spaces)
so for instance
[ pic ] http://www.xk150.org/xk60/1024/IMG_4627.JPG [ /pic ]
would become
if you removed the spaces. Sorry I could find a convienient picture of a Facel Vega quickly.
If you try replying to this message by quoting it you'll see just how it is done.
The first problem though is getting the pictures onto the web in the first place. For me it's easy, I have my own servers.
I think quite a few people here use http://photobucket.com/ or http://photobox.com/ to host their pictures. I'd never needed to try them although I have bought prints of pictures from photobox.

The colour scheme is absolutely spot on.
There's nothing like a big lazy (i.e. effortless) yankee V8 to woofle around in, but in such beautiful clothes that turns a tank into a supermodel.

Thanks for the nice comments. This is my 2nd HK500. I will post some pictures of the black one. The Polish experience has been generaly good. The quality of the work is concourse but the time frame has been a bit of a pain. In all honesty the car was worse than I thought with new metal being added pretty much everywhere, including a new front end, rear wings, complete floors etc. The engine is currently being rebuilt in the UK. We are being naughty and hotting it up a bit. Also adding CooperCraft 4 pot calipers and air-con. The dash was the biggest problem. Finding some one to repaint it to look like wood veneer. but it came out great.
Justin, I did not know you had a Facel 11? I would be very interested in buying it? Also looking forward to seeing the Lincoln Continental. I keep going to the US trying to get the right one.

The standard of work is excellent. They really can make things work again and there metal working skills are incredible. It's obviously cheaper than the UK but you need a good project manager. The exchange rate changes over the last couple of years have made a bit of difference. I could not have afforded to do the car in the UK it would have been £80,000 plus to restore.

The Facel II is one of my own cars so not for sale, it is one of the 26 RHD and Auto so perfect spec for me. Metallic Blue & Red Leather!
The Lincoln is one of the rare 1960 Mk.V Convertibles, I am hoping it will be here next week so keep an eye on my website www.justinbanks.com.
Also, what wire wheels have you put on the Black Car? I am looking for a cheaper alternative to a set of Borranis, any ideas? MWS?
