The Outer Limits

Whenever I catch one of these shows, I'm always knocked out as to how good they were. I love the twist and the use of modern science projected forward, and the focus on humans, but quite often in a dark dirty realistic way- that is a far cry from something like Star Trek.
I'm suprised this show didnt make more of an impact while shows like the X files did.
The episode that sticks in my mind is one called Dead Mans Switch-which is about a group of 5 military personal locked down below in bunkers- whos job it is - to keep hitting buttons to STOP nuclear devices going off and detroying the earth, as a precautionary measure, as aliens were landing.....
the ending is quite chilling.

Anyone else a fan?

I'm a really big fan too. Not necessarily favourite episodes but ones I remember. A disabled male engineer builds a robot female (very attractive) to be his companion. They live happily till he meets a real women and then the robot gets jealous and tries to kill her. One about a guy who experiments on himself and his body develops some super ability to regenerate and evolve very quickly. He grows scales i repsonse to injections, then gills in response to drowning then eyes in the back of his head from something else and so on. Well freaky. It is one of those great shows you just stumble across whilst flicking through channels. A bit sad to admit but I also feel the same way about quantum leap! "Maybe his next jump might be the jump home......."

Thats what I thought, like a little private fantasy- thought he would be a bit of a Captain Kirk, until you see the end, and the way the blame all war solely down to men, and as if being wimpy and not fighting for what you believe in is correct

I remember seeing this one as a kid at night. Awesome show. Need to bring it back.

Can't remember if it was Outer Limits or a similar show but the one with the little sand creatures that build a civilisation was fantastic.

I remember an episode when a bloke gets imprisoned by aliens and eventually gets a fellow human (female) put in his cell with him, over the time they are together the aliens appear to be conducting experiments with her, grafting alien parts onto her.
The bloke feels sorry for her and tells her about the secret attack plans against the aliens, all the while the woman is getting more and more alien like until it becomes obvious that the woman was an alien all along but was being changed -back- to her normal state.
As a young teenager I was very impressed!

That was a chiiling one. For me one of the worst parts was when the Earth guy lost all hope, had his hand chopped off, and finally resigned and said he wasnt going to be able to get them out of these. It was called the Quality Of Mercy but I cant find it. I may have it on DVD somewhere...
