Fair play to Vue cinemas

This seems to have started on Bond QoS, but they have now started running a whole set of films that are 12, 15, etc in adult only showings

For me, an absolute god send and something I've wished for many a time when putting up with a group of loudmouthed teenage tts talking throughout a film (talking through a film is right up there in my top ten piss boilers)

About bloody time, although a bit late for me, as I stopped going because of the noise from teenagers.
I tried to watch Final destination, and the only time the dheads stopped texting each other, and showing their mates their new ringtone, was when someone got killed on screen.

had an annoying person last night whilst watching Max payne (really dont, just dont) and he took a phone call about work and thought nothing of talking on his phone until he was asked to fk off or shut up... why do people have so little manners as to not shut the phone off or just not have the ability to ignore it when it rings.

A Que cinema is just about to open up near me. A flyer came through the door the other day and they were advertising Over 18 only viewings too. Thought it was a really good idea.

Step in the right direction. Now all we need is over-30s night and we're in business.

I just mentioned this to the missus, as we have a Vue cinema locally. Her response was "now all they need to do is ask anyone using a mobile phone to leave".

It's a pity they don't build some sort of faraday cage/radio signal killing gizmo into the cinemas, to stop bloody mobile phones working at all.

If the call is so important to you, don't sit down to watch a movie. Easy huh?

Inconsiderate bds !

I havn't had any past experience of people really talking in Cinemas as I only go to the one in Sheffield.

Decided to watch QOS whilst I was in Birmingham Star City, all I could hear was chattering coming from somewhere. It was a really big screen and I thought it was coming from the speakers at first or the screen next door ! biggrin

Turns out there where a bunch of typical yobs in the back talking really loudly confused

Just why ?!? Can't the yobs understand even the most basic concept of what is supposed to happen in a cinema, or are they trying to impress the 11 year old chavettes rolleyes

Ps - Anyone who has problems, just complain that people where talking and no action was taken at all! You get credited tickets then !

Trouble is they are completely illegal in the UK. Wireless Telegraphy Act, I think.

The reason why I hate the cinema. Its expensive, and its full of rude, noisy, incosiderate tts.

I'd much prefer to forgo seeing a film when it first comes out, wait for it to come out on blu ray or on Sky HD, and watch it in the comfort of my home on my plasma telly & nice sound system. I will happily sacrifice the fact its not quite as big / loud for the fact I dont have to put up with the idiots.

Also, I can sit there and have a beer or a glass of wine, rather than half a litre of coke that costs £2.

Me and my mate went to see QoS last Monday at 2pm at the Odeon. There were about twenty people max in the cinema, the majority of which seemed to be OAPs (guess that's what they do during the day).

There was an old couple sat idrectly in front of us, were quiet all throughtout the trailers and adverts, then as soon as the film started the guy's wife suddenly began nattering away. Then there was the row of old biddies at the other end, one of which then proceeded to cough, loudly, for 5 minutes at a time in regular intervals with no attempt to muffle it.

Problem is if some gets a truly important call. This problem was solved years ago with vibrate but people seem obsessed with stupid ring tones, almost proud of them.

I heard this and think it's a real shame. Not all under 18s are inconsiderate yobs. Most are just normal people who want to live their lives.

Why can't the cinemas make an effort to ban the real offenders? If they can use night vision goggles to catch people recording films then they could use them to eject troublemakers.

This is true. Trouble is I've seen every James Bond film at the cinema for the past 30 years (you have no idea how old that makes me feel) and I really ought to go and see Quantum of Solace at the cinema.

You do realise the world has managed for centuries without mobile phones

Eh?

they dont have to be "Yobs" as such, but teens are less likely to keep their mouth shut during a film than most

In the Bristol (Cribbs) case, youre talking 1 screen out of 14 dedicated to this over 18 idea, so no one needs your sympathy over it, they still have plenty of choice

I'm quite a timid person, but a few months back had to ask someone in front to keep the noise down (full works - ringtones, gassing to his mrs, etc) and he lost the plot with me, though I was going to get battered

Shirley if you want peace on trains, you wouldn't, for example, call me when I'm on one with a work problem....
