´03 E39 530d or '04 E60 530d I need help to decide

Hi , between a '03 e39 530d 80k miles and a '04 e60 42k miles. Theres a 5500pounds price difference .But is the the e60 a better buy ,I worry that the old e39 will loss attraction to buyers in the next few years when I would be reselling as its the old shape since 2004. Of course the new car must be better but I don´t know and I´ve heard about idrive being problematic (though have not tried this system).What thoughts about the e60 versus the e39 apart from 218bhp and roomier. I´ve always thought its best to spend least to avoid losses on depreciation .

Specs of each?

well they both have creme leather,the ORIENT BLUE e39 with sat-nav-tv,the e60 not,e39 with 18'M5 parallels and the usual memory seats s-roof, the black E60 comes a 19´M3 wheels (not recommended apparently),no satnavtv slightly less spec , but its a newer model . Both have history though the E60 has had some doors painted from someone useing a key on it , though i´m not bothered if painted well.

Are they both sport models?

I would be leaning towards the e39, but they have a few faults that will lead to big bills.

don´t think so , they have the normal seats , not the sports seats if that means anything and they are not advertised as sport models .

No more so than the E60.

I'd take the E39 and £5k change.

Thats what I´m doing Fox, going for the E39. Its lhd cause I need it to be but the front xenon lamps have orange indicators .Apparently I need to buy complete headliamp units if I wanted to change them as the xenon ones have the orange bit as part of the unit ,any ideas if this is true and you can´t just change that part. I will change the rears though to clear ,its a touring ,anyone know I could get these lens at a fair price, its 2003 e39 lhd touring clear and red wanted.
