tuscan with rebuild engine and cylinder head

hello and thanks for the help,

I am about to buy a Tuscan for my wife and there is a beautiful white one
in the classifieds model 2000 w 30k miles with a rebuild engine 2003 and a new cylinderhead 2008.
From what I learned in the forum, the cylinderhead and its moving parts is the not so well designed
piece of the Tuscan and I wonder if the 2008 cylinderhead will give me some troublefree time for a while ?
If there is anything else that I should know about the 2000 model that is well hidden to the unknowm
buyer let me know. I just want to be prerpared on what is waiting for me.
I am from Germany and the german registration would be the next thing to worry about,
so if a german fellow that ones one and has gone through the process, I would be eager to hear of
his experience.

Who are you buying it from. Private or dealer, if dealer which one

At what mileage was the first rebuild done and who by and why

At what mileage was the top end done and who by and why

How many owners has it had and can you trace them.

Looks like a private sale and it looks stunning in white however...the ad states it's covered 32k miles and in the text of the ad it states "Next service not due before 42k.", these cars need to be serviced every 6k. I'd do some digging.

Hi Spatz,

I have my Tuscan with me in Salzgitter.

Please note that I had mine rebuilt in Jan 2007.
All the advise I had was to get a full rebuild as, all of the "swarf materials will have gone down into the bottom and will have been working to wear out the various bushes and bearings.
A top end only rebuild costs a lot less but does not come with a warranttee and so you may not get any protection if there is a problem.

Having said all that, it may still be perfectly fine. But you can ask some questions. When you find out who did the rebuld that would be my first phone call to get their opinion.

unfortunately it will not happen, we had the chance to have a look at the car of C15 and she did not like it that way that she is willing to use it for every day.
GIRLS !!!!
I thought that would fit her perfectly and I really liked the idea of the removable roof and the big trunk.
However if C15's car goes on sale, look it for it, it is a nice one.
