After an early start yesterday dropped the engine in for the first and only timebiggrin (Thanks for the install tips Russ...)

It's a pretty tight fit to the bulkhead but followed the Factory LS7 layout and everything fits nice and snug with no clashes (Thanks Dave!)

Exhaust away for ceramic coating next week & coil pack mounts to fab (want to retain the 'ole skool' look..) then should be ready for first start up....

Good question - I will be interested in the answer as I have the standard GM ECU with my LS2 and am not sure whether I need to change it for an aftermarket one.

If a standard ECU is good enough for Mr Shwartz, nuff said :-) Just saved a fair chunk of change.

Hi Paul!

I'm gonna mount the coil packs either over the fuel tanks or at the rear of the cylinder heads........now the engine is in I'm leaning towards the cylinder head position.......

Simon,

It is all looking very impressive.

Please tell me one thing - you know the black bracket that suports the AC drier on the RHS of the engine bulkhead - how did you attach the two jubilee clips to that bracket to hold the drier in position ?

Thanks very much,
Regards

Kelvin

Hi Kelvin!

Quite simple really.......couple of rivnuts spaced to secure the bracket - the jubilee clips then fit under the bracket(to the top of each rivnut) - bear in mind that the rivnuts don't sit totally flush to the bulkhead & keep the main bracket from sitting totally flush........perfect spacing for the jubilee clip to pass under. Having said that it's already on my 'to do' list for next winter - gonna machine up a nicer support bracket to do away with the jubilee clips......

HTH, Simon

Looks awesome in there! I like the dry sump tank there too. Wow, just wow.

And Yes the factory ECM is tuneable and works well. Stock computer on my car (LS1 Camaro) with 60lb injectors and twin turbo's. I DD the car in the warmer weather. I put over 15k on it in a year with no problems. It's all in the tune. And I ran into Jeff this summer at the Woodward dream cruise with his Ultima. He drove it from Illinois to Michigan for the cruise. You will be fine with the stock computer.

I would guess someone like this would be capable --> http://www.wortec.co.uk/uk/corvette.html

Companies that undertake Vette tuning would have the right kit and probably relevant LSx experience.
